Double murder suspect makes first court appearance

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY — The Commonwealth may take Shannon Scott’s case to the grand jury before his preliminary hearing on February 20.

Scott made his first court appearance on Monday. He is accused of murdering two women in Murray Thursday night.

He is also facing charges of cruelty to animals, burglary, and tampering with physical evidence.

The Calloway County Grand Jury is expected to meet this Friday. We’ll let you know if they take up his case before his next hearing.

Scott’s bond is set at $2 million.
