Two injured in overnight rollover crash

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — Two people were injured Sunday night in a rollover crash.

Around 11:14 p.m., McCracken County deputies were called to the 6600 block of Kentucky Dam Road on report of a crash.

29-year-old Aaron Laffoon of Calvert City was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 eastbound on Kentucky Dam Road with 30-year-old Robyn Green-Laffoon of Calvert City as his passenger.

Deputies say Aaron’s pickup truck hydroplaned, causing it to cross into the oncoming traffic lane and go off the side of the road.

The pickup truck went down a 15′ earth embankment, hit a tree, and went up another earth embankment. It then became airborne and began flipping, landing on its roof and continuing to roll.

After crossing several driveways and front yards, the pickup truck eventually stopped right side up in the front yard of 6640 Kentucky Dam Road.

Robyn had to be removed from the pickup truck by mechanical means. Both Aaron and Robyn were taken to a local hospital with incapacitating injuries.

Deputies believe weather and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.

Aaron was cited with failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
