I-24 east to close overnight Wednesday at Tennessee River bridge

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, KY — The eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 east will be closed Wednesday night into Thursday morning for work on the Tennessee River bridge in west Kentucky, the state transportation cabinet has announced.

The contractor plans concrete pouring so new joints can be installed on the bridge at the 30 mile marker from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday, a KYTC news release says. Drivers will detour between U.S. 62 Calvert City exit 27 and KY 453 Grand Rivers exit 31. The bridge is at the Livingston County, Marshall County line.

KYTC says westbound traffic won’t be affected by the closure.

The eastbound closure is the fourth of eight closures planned as part of the bridge improvement project.
