MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — Interim McCracken County High School Principal Ginger Stewart is stepping down from that role.

Local 6 has learned that Stewart has on Thursday announced her decision to return to her former position as McCracken County director of district-wide programs.

Stewart has been serving as interim principal since Michael Ceglinski was suspended with pay last month.

Ceglinski was charged with misconduct and failure to report abuse of a student. The misconduct charge was later dropped, but Ceglinski is still suspended as the failure to report charge remains.

On Friday, the McCracken County Board of Education accepted the resignation of district superintendent Brian Harper in an emergency meeting. The board did not make a decision on hiring an acting superintendent.

That means the school district is without a superintendent and a high school principal Friday night.
