The flu is widespread in 47 states

Influenza, aka the flu, has been widespread in Kentucky for the 10th consecutive week. The state’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services says there have been 44 flu-related death for the 2018-19 flue season. They released a report Friday that shows 1-50 confirmed influenza cases have each occurred in:

  • Ballard County
  • Graves County
  • Marshall County
  • Calloway County
  • Livingston County
  • Crittenden County

The cabinet also reports most confirmed cases have been Influenza A and have affected mostly kids between the ages of 1-10 years old.

Kentucky isn’t alone. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the flu is also widespread in Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee. In fact, it is widespread in every state except Hawaii, District of Columbia, and Vermont. Those states are seeing local activity.
