Police find local missing teen dead

CARMI, ILLINOIS – Illinois State Police have found the body of 19-year-old Brooke Naylor. We first told you she had disappeared on March 6.

Information was released by Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations on Friday.

Police say Naylor is from Harrisburg, Illinois. She was last seen in Harrisburg on March 3, 2019. Her Chevrolet Malibu was found abandoned on the Eldorado Ridgeway Blacktop about halfway between Illinois Route 142 and Illinois Route 1.

On Friday, March 8, 2019 at about 5:40 P.M., someone with the search team found Naylor’s body south of Pot Hole Lane in rural Gallatin County.

An autopsy is scheduled to be completed on Saturday, March 9th, and the investigation into her death continues.

The Illinois State Police and the family would like to thank all of the numerous volunteers for the generous donation of their time and resources during this exhaustive search.
