Suspicious fire under investigation in Metropolis, IL

METROPOLIS, IL — An investigation is underway into a suspicious fire in Metropolis, Illinois.

Firefighters were called to a fire at an apartment complex near 8th Street early Friday morning.

Everyone was able to get out safely, but unfortunately the apartment is a loss.

Harry Massey, Metropolis’ police and fire chief, believes the fire is suspicious. He says they were called to another fire at the complex just a few hours before.
