Dozens of people walk to raise awareness for local families affected by HIV/AIDS
CARBONDALE, IL – Dozens of people walked on Saturday in blue t-shirts to raise awareness and money for AIDS research. The Southern IL AIDS Walk started at the SIUC Newman Center in Carbondale.
All money raised will benefit the Southern IL AIDS Coalition. Their Facebook page says their goal is to help “low-income families impacted by HIV/AIDS in 19 Southern-most counties of Illinois.”
Money raised from the walk will help them buy grocery store gift cards for low-income households impacted by HIV/AIDS. You can find out how to donate here. They have a $10,000 goal.
