Gov. Bevin signs Senate Bill 1

FRANKFORT, KY — Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin ceremoniously signed Senate Bill 1, also known as the School Safety and Resiliency Act, into law Wednesday morning.

The bill was passed after the shooting at Marshall County High School.

It includes improving mental health services in schools, making sure every school has a resource officer and creating the role of state school security marshal to enforce school safety similarly to how the state fire marshal oversees fire safety.
