Stefanie Martinez saying goodbye

For nearly 3 years now I’ve been blessed to help you get up and out the door in the mornings. It’s been an honor and a privilege. It’s not a job I’ve taken lightly. Let me tell you… my moments with you are dear to me. I will always cherish the 3 years I’ve spent in the Local 6 region.

Many of you have reached out or commented on recent changes on Local 6 Today. I’ve responded by expressing how the changes are positive for the team and myself. It’s with mixed emotion I announce that my last day with WPSD Local 6 will be May 24th. As you may already know I’m getting married in October. So my journey will continue a little south of here in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The decision to leave my position here was mine. Station management wanted to renew my contract. I wish I could have done that, but my coming marriage has to be a priority. So we decided to modify my role here at the same time morning co-anchor Mychaela Bruner left for a job in her home town, Saint Louis. It meant you, our viewers, would have most of the change at one time. For me, it was an opportunity to beef up my reporting reel. Brianna Clark, a talented and caring anchor and reporter was able to seamlessly join Mike and Trent. She’s doing a wonderful job. I’ll be leaving you in the very good hands of a great morning team. I will miss being part of it. I hope this answers some of the questions you’ve asked me.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to work for all of you in the Local 6 viewing area. You welcomed me with open arms 3 years ago and since then this area has been home. Thank you. ❤

Not a goodbye… Let’s keep in touch! You can follow what’s next for me by visiting my Instagram and Facebook.
