Woman accused of hitting 3-year-old boy with car, fleeing the scene
PADUCAH — A woman was arrested after Paducah police say she hit a 3-year-old boy with her car and fled the scene.
The Paducah Police Department says the boy’s injuries were not life threatening, but he did have to be treated in the Baptist Health Paducah Emergency Room.
Officers were called to the hospital around 5 p.m. Wednesday while the child was in the emergency room, a police department news release says. The child’s mother told officers the child was trying to cross Fairmont Street in the 2700 block when a Ford Taurus hit him. The mother said the driver stopped briefly, but then drove off.
Police say the driver was 21-year-old Keyera Thomasson. She was arrested around 8 p.m. Wednesday and jailed in the McCracken County Regional Jail. She has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash/failure to render aid or assistance.
