Woman shares addiction story in Paducah ahead of documentary release
PADUCAH — A Kentucky woman who has created a documentary about her addiction recovery journey spoke at the Centerpoint Recovery Center in Paducah Friday.
Debby Terry talked about her struggle with drug addiction from the age of 14 that ended when she was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
She has turned that struggle into a documentary of her journey called “Never Me: The Debby Terry Story.” After showing the film, Terry told the audience what terrifies her the most.
“Right now I am terrified. Every day I’m losing somebody to heroin or meth — every day. I’ve lost four friends in the last six months,” she said.
Terry said she did not make the documentary for herself, but for all those still battling addiction.
The film is set to air on KET May 5, 7, 10 and 11.
