A “turkey of a lifetime” killed in Tennessee
RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – A hunter killed what is being called a “turkey of a lifetime”. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency posted the photo on their Facebook page.
The agency says “Cameron Bond of Warren County, TN took a leucistic gobbler in Rutherford County last Saturday.”
Leucism means a loss of pigmentation or color in the turkey, which explains why it is mostly white. The beard of the turkey is dark and the back feathers have some color, too.
The bird weighed in at 20 pounds and it’s beard measured 9 1/2″. Its spurs measured in at .75″.
