Tennessee deputies investigate deadly shooting

UPDATE: Deputies say the person who shot and killed a man in Weakley County, Tennessee, Tuesday night is a 17-year-old boy.

The teen has not yet been taken into custody as the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.

Capt. Randall McGowan says investigators are waiting for autopsy results before deciding how to move forward.


WEAKLEY COUNTY, TN — A Weakley County, Tennessee man, was killed after he was shot by the child of the woman he was dating.

Shortly before midnight, Weakly County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Pisgah Road between Dresden and Latham on report of a prowler.

When they arrived, they learned it was actually a domestic incident.

Deputies say 20-year-old Anthony Perry of Weakley County was trying to get into the home of his girlfriend and her child.

The two were preventing Perry from entering the home.

Deputies say Perry was shot by the child after he broke out a window to the master bedroom.

Perry was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been sent for an autopsy.

The sheriff’s department says they are not releasing the name or age of the child.

An investigation is ongoing.
