Former Murray teacher and track coach makes first court appearance

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY — A former high school teacher and track coach will be back in court later this month.

Mark Boggess is charged with three counts of possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and four counts of voyeurism.

This after investigators say he set up a recording device in one of the bathrooms at Murray High School.

Boggess made his first court appearance on Tuesday.

During that appearance, a judge denied a change of bond request. The judge said the charges Boggess is facing are too serious.

Boggess will be in court again on Wednesday, May 29 for a preliminary hearing.
