2019 KENTUCKY PRIMARY: What you need to know
KENTUCKY — Polls are open for the Kentucky 2019 Primary. Here are a few things you need to know before heading to the polls.
You will have to bring some form of identification with you to vote. You can use any of the following as identification:
- Driver’s license
- Social Security card
- U.S. government-issued identification card
- Kentucky state government-issued identification card with picture
- County issued identification card approved in writing by the State Board of Elections
- Credit card
- Any ID card with voter’s picture and signature
Polls are open until 6:00 p.m. central time. As long as you are in line by 6:00 p.m., you will still be allowed to vote. If you need to find your polling location, click here.
You can only vote for candidates in the party you are registered under. That means registered Democrats can only vote for Democratic candidates and registered Republicans can only vote for Republican candidates.
This is because this is a primary election. You’ll be able to vote for whichever candidate you want in the upcoming General Election.
