Multiple agencies respond to single-vehicle crash on Clinton Road in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY — Multiple agencies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Clinton Road in McCracken County Thursday afternoon.

The crash, which happened around 3:54 p.m., blocked the roadway between the intersection with Luigs Lane and the four-way intersection with Lovelaceville Florence Station West for about three hours.

Responders with Mercy Regional EMS, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, the Lone Oak Fire Department and the coroner’s office responded to the crash.

A McCracken County Sheriff’s Department deputy who was at the scene told Local 6 one person died in the crash. There were no other passengers in the car.

The deputy said the car left the road and hit a tree. He said investigators don’t yet know what caused the crash. Shortly after the deputy spoke with Local 6, the sheriff’s department sent out a news release with further details. The release says when the car hit the tree, that caused the vehicle to cross to the opposite side of the road. It came to a stop on the driver’s side and caught fire with the driver inside.

The deputy says the name of the person killed in the crash is not yet being released, pending family notification.
