First downtown mural finished in Murray, Kentucky

MURRAY, KY — The next time you drive through Murray, you can see a new piece of art. The city has finished it’s first mural on Main Street.

It’s on the side of the Murray-Calloway County Board of Realtors building. It features the oldest homes on Murray’s Main Street. The artist, Tom Jackson, says he included small details the community asked for and some of his own personal touches.

“There’s a nice woman that came up to me and said ‘Could you put a black cat on the porch?’ So I said ‘Sure, I’ll do that.’ My dog ended up in it as well,” Jackson says.

Jackson says he finished the mural Tuesday. The city is planning to paint more murals around town.
