WATCH: Gubernatorial candidate Andy Beshear speaks at Murray State
MURRAY, KY — Democratic candidate for Kentucky governor and state Attorney General Andy Beshear will be in Murray Friday night for the annual Purchase Area Jefferson Jackson Dinner.
Beshear will be speaking at Curris Center Ballroom at Murray State University. Local 6 will be livestreaming his remarks, and you will be able to watch within this story.
Sam Newton, the communications director for the Beshear-Coleman campaign, said Beshear is expected to talk about unity, focusing on Democrats and working families coming together to expand access to health care, create more jobs, and protect public education.
Newton said Beshear campaigned with House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins — who Beshear defeated in the May primary — Monday in Morehead and Sandy Hook in eastern Kentucky.
Beshear is also expected to campaign with former state auditor Adam Edelen — who Beshear also beat in the Democratic primary — in Meade County in the coming weeks, Newton said.
Also scheduled to speak during Friday night’s Jefferson Jackson dinner are three other Democratic nominees for state offices: treasurer candidate Michael Bowman, auditor candidate Sheri Donahue, and secretary of state candidate Heather French Henry.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., and the program will begin after. The event will run until 9 p.m.
The event is hosted by the Calloway County Democrats.
The general election will be on Nov. 5.
