Woman reports abuse, leads police to narcotics arrest
CARLISLE COUNTY, KY — Police arrested a man trafficking drugs after a woman reports she was kidnapped by the suspect.
The Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release they received confidential information regarding 41-year-old Edward Wallace trafficking methamphetamine in Carlisle County and other western Kentucky counties.
A woman told workers at a gas station Sunday morning Wallace had bound, gagged and held her at his home. She confirmed that the drugs were at his home.
The sheriff’s office, along with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police, obtained a search warrant for his home. 19 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, drug paraphernalia and large amounts of cash tipped police that he was involved in drug trafficking.
Police used information found during the search warrant and 38-year-old Kelvin Thomas of Clinton was contacted and agreed to deliver an additional two grams of methamphetamine to Wallace’s home. Upon arriving, police found about 64 grams of methamphetamine and large amounts of cash. Police believe he is also involved in drug trafficking and arrested him as well.
Wallace was arrested and faces drug trafficking and possession charges, along with kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment charges.
