One dead after overnight shooting in Mayfield Tuesday
UPDATE: The Mayfield Messenger reports 23-year-old Savannah Hancock has died from injuries sustained from a Tuesday night shooting.
Mayfield Messenger says Hancock passed away at 4:11 p.m. Thursday in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville Indiana.
Mayfield Police Chief Nathan Kent tells the Mayfield Messenger shots allegedly had been fired into two homes Tuesday night in two drive-by shootings. It was during the second shooting at 10:31 p.m. where Kent says Hancock was hit in the neck with a bullet at 702 Lee Street.
The first shooting was at 1204 S. Sixth Street at 9:15 p.m. The bullet hit a television screen and no injuries were reported.
Kent tells the Mayfield Messenger that it’s unclear if the two shootings were connected or if Hancock was the intended victim.

UPDATE: The Mayfield Police Department has named the victim in an overnight shooting in Mayfield.
Police said 23-year-old Savannah Hancock of Mayfield was transported to an area trauma center and is listed in critical condition.
MAYFIELD, KY — A person was injured in an overnight shooting in Mayfield.
Mayfield police say a person was shot on West Lee Street. They were taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
The shooter is still on the loose.
