Marion, Illinois man injured in officer-involved shooting
MARION, IL — Illinois State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Marion, Illinois.
Around 8:14 p.m. Sunday night, Marion officers were called to the 2600 block of Ingersoll Lane on report of shots fired.
When they arrived, they found 40-year-old Lucas Johnson on or near the front porch holding what appeared to be a shotgun.
The Marion Police Department says following several attempts to get Johnson to drop the gun, an officer fired his gun at Johnson.
Johnson was hit and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No officers were injured.
Illinois State Police are now investigating the officer-involved shooting.
