Power outages continues after severe weekend storms

WEST KENTUCKY — Many people in West Kentucky are waking up without power Monday morning.

The outages follow severe storms that hit the Local 6 area over the weekend.

Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation has the largest number of outages with almost 1,500 customers without power.

West Kentucky Rural Electric is the next biggest with a little less than 200 customers without power.

Outages for Paducah Power System, Ameren Illinois, and Gibson Electric Membership Corporation are very low.

Jackson Purchase says broken poles, downed wires, and tree cleanup are slowing down progress to restore power.

They say with assistance they should have power restored to many customers either Monday or early Tuesday morning.

Those living in the Clinton Road, South Gum Springs area of McCracken County and the northern Livingston county area will experience the longest outage durations.

We’ll keep this page updated with the latest power outage information.
