Car dealerships in southern Illinois collecting supply donations for flooded communities

METROPOLIS, IL — Two car dealership locations in southern Illinois are hosting a supply drive for communities affected by flooding in the region.

Ward Chevrolet Metropolis and Ward Chrysler Center Carbondale will host the Neighbors Helping Neighbors supply drive sarting July 11, according to a news release sent Tuesday.

During normal business hours from July 11 to July 19, you can donate water, other drinks, household items and hygiene items for families affected by flooding at both locations. The Ward dealerships are hoping to fill multiple vehicles on their lots with supplies. And, the event announcement notes, every person who donates can enter to win a free tank of gas.

Both locations are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Ward Chrysler Center Carbondale is at 1412 West Main St. in Carbondale, and Ward Chevrolet Metropolis is at 1551 East 5th St. in Metropolis.
