Pauline Fitzgerald is a multimedia journalist at WPSD Local 6.
Pauline was born in Brussels, Belgium, and then moved to Newtown, Connecticut, where she was raised. She found her passion for journalism at a young age and followed her dreams to become a television news reporter.
In 2012, she was a junior attending Newtown High School during the Sandy Hook Shooting. This made her realize all the different aspects of journalism and how important storytelling is.
Pauline graduated from The University of Alabama in May 2018 with a degree in journalism and Italian literature. While attending college, she interned at WVUA 23 News as a reporter and editor.
Half of Pauline’s family is from northern Italy, and the other half is from Illinois. Being raised in an Italian-American household, she had the opportunity to travel to various countries around the world. This sparked a curiosity about a social world where she would constantly be exposed to current events and real-world problems. Her goal is to bring those stories to you on television and online.
