(NBC NEWS) — Adam Leving is leaving NBC’s “The Voice” after 16 seasons as a coach.

Carson Daly made the announcement Friday morning on the TODAY Show.

Levine had been with the show since its inception in 2011.

Former judge Gwen Stefani will be returning to take Levine’s place for season 17.
