LEXINGTON, KY — Both Cullan Brown and Case Cochran continued to climb up the leaderboard at the Barbasol Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Brown, who is competing in his first professional tournament as a amateur, shot a 67 in Saturday’s third round. The Lyon County alum and Kentucky freshman had five straight birdies on the front nine, and put him at -9 overall in the tournament and in a tie for 44th.

“We were just kind of guessing as we were coming in how the game was going to have developed over the summer,” Brown said. “Because we haven’t practiced a lot since I got out of school. Took a lot of time off and really didn’t feel super prepared for this event coming in and the game has really held up well so far this week. Hopefully we can go out again tomorrow and make it happen one more time.”

As for Paducah native Case Cochran, he followed up a career round of 64 on Friday, with a four-under 68 on Saturday. Cochran moved up to 14th place in the tournament and sits at -13.

This is Cochran’s third ever event on the PGA Tour, and first made cut.
