CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY — Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon appeared in court Wednesday.

He pleaded not guilty to first degree possession of a controlled substance and official misconduct.

Redmon is accused of stealing hydrocodone from the prescription drug disposal dropbox in the sheriff’s office.

A pre-trial conference has been set for 11 a.m. on Nov. 7 in Hopkinsville. He must go through proper booking procedures with Kentucky State Police.

Bond conditions are being agreed upon by the prosecutor and defense attorney. Right now, Redmon can exercise his administrative duties, such as property tax collection, but is restricted from law enforcement activities. He must also turn over all his weapons.
