Mychaela Bruner is the morning anchor and reporter for WPSD Local 6 Today Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m.
Mychaela was born and raised in the small town of Mascoutah, Illinois. Mychaela graduated from Mascoutah Community High School and then headed to Columbia, Missouri where she attended the University of Missouri. In college, Mychaela worked for KOMU-TV (NBC station) as an anchor and a reporter. During those four years, Mychaela learned to write, edit and shoot her own stories. She also worked as a reporter for NEWSY.com and KBIA 91.3FM (NPR station).
During Mychaela’s junior year of college, she landed an internship with WTVF News Channel 5 in Nashville, TN. Mychaela describes the internship as an experience of a lifetime.
In June of 2013, Mychaela joined the WPSD Local 6 team as the weekend morning anchor and reporter. After a year and a half at WPSD Local 6, she is now our morning anchor and reporter for WPSD Local 6 Today. Mychaela loves meeting new people and is quite the ‘talker.’ If you see her out be sure to say ‘hello.’
In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. She has grown up riding horses and spending time in the river bottoms, a true country girl at heart.
