WPSD LOCAL 6 has an immediate opening for a web editor. You will write and edit stories for our website, wpsdlocal6.com. In addition, you will provide content on our social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You will also be responsible for sending push alerts from our Local 6 app. A web editor will update news many times each day, check and respond to social media comments routinely, post commercial and promotional material, monitor web traffic and report potential problems. You will also help your EP keep the news team on track with their digital responsibilities. Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure during breaking news situations, and communicate effectively with a variety of people in the organization is essential. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or working toward a degree in journalism or related fields is required. Familiarity with Internet applications such as Photoshop is important, in addition to SEO best practices. Editor must have superior writing and editing skills, self-driven, and be organized, task-oriented and deadline-driven.
