Updated Information 8:03 p.m. The westbound lanes of Interstate 24 have reopened to traffic near the 46 mile marker in Lyon County after crews cleared the site of a crash involving two semitrailers.
The crash happened Friday morning.
As of about 8:03 p.m., the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the crash site has been cleared and all lanes are open.
Updated Information 6:24 p.m. Interstate 24 is expected to remain closed a couple of hours longer near the 46 mile marker in Lyon County, Kentucky, after two semitrailers crashed Friday morning.
As of 6:24 p.m., KYTC now says the road is expected to remain blocked until 8:30 p.m.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet now says the road is expected to remain blocked until about 6:30 p.m.
KYTC says one of the trucks was hauling glass bottles, some of which broke during the crash and spilled onto the roadway. The trailer of that vehicle is also damaged to the point that KYTC says the remaining cargo has to be offloaded.

LYON COUNTY — The KYTC says a crash involving two semitrailers is blocking both westbound lanes of Interstate 24 near the 46-mile-marker in Lyon County.
According to a Friday release, crews expect the blockage to last until at least 12:30 p.m.
The KYTC says traffic is being detoured at the KY 139 Princeton-Cadiz Exit to follow KY 93 North to return to I-24 at the KY 293 Eddyville-Princeton Exit 45 Interchange.
