GRAVES COUNTY, KY — Graves County Interim Sheriff Jon Hayden says the search for a mother missing since March of last year is still “extremely active.”
Sperry is a mother of two children from Calloway County. She was last seen in Graves County. In April of this year, Local 6 showed you crews out looking for her in a wooded area in the county where she disappeared. During that search, her father, Tony Artis, told us the family wants to know what happened to her. “Samantha has kids, you know, and they’re going to grow up and want their questions answered,” Artis said.
Monday, Hayden said members of federal law enforcement are committed to helping the Graves County Sheriff’s Department find her, and he feels good about the progress he said is being made.
“We just want to make sure that everything has been done. We want to make sure everything has been done so that everyone will know without any doubt and have confidence that everything that could possibly be done was done.
Hayden said he is committed to finding Sperry. He said the sheriff’s office is looking into other cold cases as well, but did not go into details about those cases.
The interim sheriff talked with Local 6 Monday after his announcement that he will run for sheriff in November.
