MT. VERNON, IL — SSM Health has launched a new web-based diagnosis and treatment service. The service gives Illinois residents affordable health care at their fingertips.
The service starts June 3 and helps patients whether or not they have health insurance or are existing SSM Health patients.
Using the service is easy. After logging into SSM Health’s virtual visit platform, patients will complete a questionnaire that asks the same questions you would answer during an in-person visit. During normal office hours, patients using the service will get a video or phone call from an SSM Health provider within 15 to 60 minutes to talk about treatment.
Patients who complete questionnaires after normal hours will receive a response within an hour of when operations begin the next business day.
Normal office hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Patients can be treated virtually for common non-urgent health problems, for a flat fee of $25 and prescriptions will be sent to the preferred pharmacy.
Anyone 18 years old and older can create an account and complete a visit. Parents or legal guardians must complete children’s visits.
The service is intended for patients ages 2 to 75, since they can have complex medical conditions.
If a problem cannot be diagnosed online, the patient will be sent to a physical SSM Health location. They will not have to pay the online fee.
