Jayce Bryant sentenced

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY -- Jayce Bryant, the man who tortured a puppy, was sentenced to jail on Wednesday.

Bryant plead guilty earlier this year to torture of a dog with serious injury.

He was sentenced to 2.5 years behind bars and must pay more than $1,300 in restitution to the McCracken County Humane Society.

Bryant's lawyer asked for probation, but the judge denied it.

The judge also read a statement made by Russel Jones, the veterinarian who first helped with the puppy.

Jones said the muzzle had to have been wrapped around his snout for at least 48 hours.

The puppy, now named Hero, made a full recovery and is now living in his forever home.
