UPDATE: A Graves County woman was killed in a head-on crash in Paducah that happened Monday afternoon on Irvin Cobb Drive, police say.

A Paducah Police Department news release says 26-year-old Alexander Scott was driving a pickup truck east on the inside lane of Irvin Cobb Drive when he swerved left to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of him. Scott served into oncoming traffic and crashed into an SUV.

The driver of the SUV, 79-year-old Clarence Roddy, and his wife, 76-year-old Florence Roddy — both of Symsonia — were taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Paducah. Police say not long after, Florence Roddy was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Irvin Cobb was closed for about two hours after the crash.

The police department says the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
