GRAVES COUNTY, KY — An attorney representing Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon has released a statement about a state police investigation into the sheriff.
Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Unit Sgt. Dean Patterson confirmed Tuesday that the agency is investigating drug-related accusations against Redmon. The sheriff has not yet been charged with a crime.
Tuesday afternoon, Redmon’s attorney, Bryan Wilson, released a statement saying Redmon has taken time out of office due to health issues, as well as because of the investigation.

“Over the past several months Sheriff Dewayne Redmon has battled a variety of health issues for which he has sought treatment. Recently Sheriff Redmon was made aware of an ongoing investigation into his alleged conduct. Due to these factors he has taken time out of the office to concentrate on his health. He remains in close contact with his staff and he will continue to perform his duties as Sheriff of Graves County. Sheriff Redmon and his family would very much appreciate your thoughts, prayers and understanding during this time.”
