WICKLIFFE, KY — On Sept. 11, 2001, 343 firefighters gave their lives at the World Trade Center. It has become a tradition among firefighters across the country to honor their memory by walking up 110 flights of stairs.

Firefighters Timothy Greif and Dawson Collins with the Wickliffe Rural Fire Department made the climb at a local gym Wednesday, the 18th anniversary of the attacks.

It's meant to replicate the distance those 343 men and women had to travel inside the World Trade Center.
