On the morning of Tuesday, January 23, 2018, the unthinkable happened at Marshall County High School.

Kentucky State Police say just before 8:00 a.m., 15-year-old Gabriel Parker entered the school with a handgun and opened fire.

The shooting killed two students, 15-year-old Bailey Holt and 15-year-old Preston Cope. Twenty-one other people were injured. Of those, 16 suffered gunshot wounds.

Parker has been charged with two counts of first degree murder and 14 counts of first degree assault. Right now he is being tried in adult court. His next court date is August 3, 2018.
