The jackpot is estimated to be worth a staggering $1 billion. That's just $500 million shy of the highest Mega Millions jackpot ever -- $1.537 billion, all won by one ticket holder in South Carolina.

A $520 million Mega Millions jackpot is up for grabs Friday night, and the new winning numbers have been announced. 

Kevin Clark, of Candler, North Carolina, played a hunch and went on a journey to find the last top prize of the $5,000,000 Mega Cash scratch-off game.

Although many were able to be serviced, many more could not get in due to maximum capacity being reached quickly at each center.

The Kentucky Lottery Corporation says the state's lottery has set a new record in the 2019 fiscal year.

A federal judge ruled Monday that a law prohibiting interstate wagering applies only to sports gambling, setting aside a Justice Department opinion that some states feared would make online lottery activities including Powerball illegal and put the programs they fund at risk.
