PADUCAH, KY — For the sixth straight year, the McCracken County Mustangs are preparing to play a baseball game at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in the KHSAA State Tournament.

During that run the Mustangs have played 12 games in the state tournament, which is tied with St. Xavier for the most appearances in that stretch. So when it comes to getting ready to play in that atmosphere, it is second nature for the Mustangs.

“A lot of the teams can’t handle the pressure,” said Mustang senior CJ Spillane. “We have been there six years straight and there are five guys who have been there a couple of times. The pressure really doesn’t get to us.”

“No one is nervous,” senior Jacob Ehling said. “First teams going down there they might be a little nervous. Big stage, and we have been there so we will be fine.”

McCracken County will face Rowan County on Thursday at 4:30pm CT at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, KY.
